Der H\u00f6hepunkt des Festes ist das Pongal-Kochen. Auf einer neuen Feuerstelle wird in einem eigens get\u00f6pferten Topf ein Reisbrei mit Milch und Palmzucker erhitzt &#8211; bis er \u00fcberkocht und alle sich ein &#8222;Gl\u00fcckliches Pongal&#8220; w\u00fcnschen.<\/p>\n<p class=\"bodytext\">Unser Heimleiter Stephen hat uns Bilder von der Pongal-Feier des Heims geschickt, von denen wir eine kleine Auswahl zeigen. Was nicht drauf ist, sind die Berge von frisch geschlagenem Zuckerrohr im Speisesaal. Sie werden in handliche St\u00fccke gehackt und an die Kinder verteilt. Drei Tage lang s\u00fc\u00dfer Knabberspa\u00df.
